FAQs

Colon Hydrotherapy is also known as Colonics or Colonic irrigation. Warm purified water is introduced into the body via the colon to dissolve and carry built-up waste, gas, and toxins away. Our Colon is the last portion of our digestive tract, which can be as long as you are tall, approximately 2 metres. The Colon has many functions other than just storing waste. It absorbs nutrients and Vitamins, produces 95% of our serotonin ( happy hormone), and produces Melatonin ( sleep hormone), up to 80% of our immune system is housed in the colon, which is the home of our good gut bacteria (microbiome) all of which is essential for overall health. Making sure this elimination pathway functions as it should is of the greatest importance you can do for your overall health.

Each treatment is different for each person and even each treatment for the same individual can vary from session to session. Sessions generally last 45 Minutes of treatment time but allow an hour for your appointment.
-
Colonics are not a painful treatment. Treatments usually feel very relieving and therapeutic and can even find the session very relaxing. Your first session can feel a bit uncomfortable this feeling usually feels like a mild cramp and quickly disappears once the body releases those toxins and waste.

It all depends on what issues you are experiencing and what your goals are. We recommend a series of 4 sessions spaced close together to give you the best results to start with, then offer recommendations that are individualised. Some clients keep up with them weekly or fortnightly, while others may have them once a month or a series of sessions every three months. There is no one size fits all approach.

Preparation isn’t essential, but here are a few tips to get the most out of your session.
1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!!!!! Make sure you are well hydrated so that everything has softened up and is easier for your body to release. Your body won’t release any waste or toxins until it is fully hydrated first.
2. Fasting for at least 2 hours before your appointment is recommended for best results, although not essential. Not eating close to your treatment takes the pressure off your body so it isn’t trying to digest and release at the same time.
3. If possible come at a time when you can be fully relaxed and not in a rush. The more relaxed you can be, the better your body is able to release all those toxins. Everything in your session is completely confidential and you’re well taken care of. Pick a time that works for you.
4. Wear something comfortable, just something that can be removed from the waist down. Don’t worry you are completely covered up with a towel during the treatment.
5. Come in with an open mind and take away all of the benefits colonics have to offer. Try not to focus on the speculum insert which is not painful just a weird sensation. Don’t let it be the reason to miss out on all the amazing health benefits colonics have to offer.

None at all. Some people go back to work or the gym for a workout. However, if it is your first session you can feel exhausted afterward due to large toxic releases, but most people report feeling calmer, energised, lighter, more alert and an overall sense of wellbeing after the toxins have been released. You may need to go to the toilet a couple of times after the treatment, but you won’t have any unexpected accidents.
-
Not at all, in fact, it helps retrain the colon muscles to become stronger. Colonics help strengthen the muscles that make up the colon, helping with the colon’s natural peristalsis contraction movements.

Yes, you absolutely can. This is the most common question that is asked. It’s a great time to get a colonic as your body is already detoxing so having a colonic when you have your period is the perfect match
